The artist

Taken in April 2009..

I used to fancy myself as an artist back when I was young. I could draw stuff that would make my classmates admire in awe as I drew with my dainty pencil.

I passed through primary school in a daze, through all the tuitions, swimming lessons and multiple CCAs which I joined and quit soon after.

But I really loved to play games then. Pokemon, Neopets, Maplestory.. since I was 7 when I got my first gameboy from my father who bought it at a game shop in Simei outside Cold Storage..

I drew game stuff and started to work on some clay in sec 3.. I made this figurine, together with 2 others.. they're still somewhere in my room in a metal box.

As I grew, I realized I was bad at drawings compared to the pros.. I kind of stopped drawing altogether gradually and only doodled a little on my excercise books.

Sometimes in life you have to stop comparing and start loving, don't be a hater.

Hope

Taken on Febuary 2009..

Ah, 2009. An eventful year for me, in my lovely secondary school.

At 15 years old and sec 3, I was posted to an arts class instead of a science class. Had to go through probation before I made it to a pure physics class. Was no easy feat, but I scored really well.

It wasn't just because I studied harder than I usually would, it was because my father had just gone through an operation and was recuperating at home.. having no choice, I had to study in his prescence.

Life was a bitch then, and I really hated that I couldnt spend my time idling because my dad was watching me. Now how I wish he was still here, telling me off, making me do my work..

Anyway, this picture was taken on a wednesday.. it was probably after school (ah, how I miss short days where school ended at 1!) and I saw the beautiful rainbow from my room..

This picture probably represents hope, as I had much in 2009. Hope to get better in my studies, and hope for my dad to recover..

Introduction

I'm just an average 17 year old boy. As of now, I'm turning 18 in 2 months which means I'll be considered an adult then.

I grew up in an average family, attended average schools and living an average life.

When I looked at my phone pictures the other day, I found out that there were many memories I had stored as I browsed through them. The pictures ringed at the back of my head as I realized time is slipping away quickly now as it did in the past.

So, I decided to start a picture blog, which I will update regularly.. mostly on weekends.

I've given up on blogging current stuff, it just gets mundane and draggy after awhile. I'd like to see things in retrospect and ponder about life..

Maybe I'll continue taking pictures with my handphone as my life goes on currently, so I can look back at the past in future.
